I think it’s really annoying when people start arguments about which specific Earth culture/country/etc the Bajorans or Cardassians were based on. The writers have explicitly said that they drew inspiration from multiple different conflicts in multiple different places. If you find the Bajorans relatable, or you’ve noticed interesting historical parallels, that’s fine! But stop making posts about how they’re Very Definitely One Specific Allegory and you’re somehow appropriating them/being problematic if you compare them to anyone else.

i kinda forgot my bajoran redesigns were supposed to have horns?? i didn't add them in my final sketches. oopsie

just so you know they're mostly based off deer with very funky eye ducts and fangs like muntjac deer. the horns are also like in the pictures above, they have a section covered in skin and fuzz. it's not a clean or elegant horn like say a reindeer?

What are your thoughts on viewers making fan art of the bajorans with rodent like features? Like long tails, faces more snout like, and more hair/fur? I think it pairs beautifly with cardassians as "lizard people" and seeing the bajorans as lesser beings

I think it's hilarious, personally, even if the pieces don't necessarily fit my personal mental image of Bajorans. It makes me smile that people are still putting so much talent and passion into creating DS9 art after all these years, whatever form it may take.
