What got you so worked up lol That entire rant of yours is just hilarious to me, because it’s just so stupidly pointless. In the same vein that you ask whether “sexuality is all that matters to you”, I could ask whether canon is all that matters to you. Some people like shipping characters who have never interacted in canon once, it’s pretty common. I don’t see why you should care this much about that.
