It was probably the seventh time that day hearing those words from a customer and it reminded Asher to never pick up another job ever again. He’d never been a people person, and working as a cashier was definitely not something suited for someone like him. He braced his hand on the counter, leaning on it and giving the woman on the other side a very unapologetic look. His words further solidified the fact. “Look, lady, you got plans and I understand that, but sometimes a guy just needs an extra sec to find the damn barcode, alright?” After flashing a tight smile, Asher finally scans the item and taps a few buttons on the register to display the amount owed on the little screen attached to it. “Ta-dah.”
She wasn't in a much of a hurry honestly, but after having to wait in line for what seemed like an eternity because people felt the need to buy the entire store, she was just tired. The fact that she only had one item made her even more annoyed since the shoppers in front of her who had an entire basket filled with items, didn't have the common courtesy to allow her to go first. On top of all that, she had to deal with a rude cashier. She was on her last nerve at this point, so she simply pinched the bridge of her nose letting out a heavy sigh "Okay okay" Luckily he was able to scan the item, but when he showed her the price her jaw dropped "That's not right. On the shelf it said there was a sale on all household items" Crossing her arms, she blew her fringes from her face, growing more and more annoyed by the minute "Fix it."
