Is there any song about platonic crush?
(would it be fair to say that a lot of the ableist judgements the fandom made about wilbur's character are sort of happening again with c!niki and her mental struggles or is that just me interpreting things wrong)
(I mean, probably? I don't really traffic that part of the fandom much since niki's arc has attracted a lot of people who Legit Hate cc!tommy and it's hard to go through the tags rn lmao, but there is legitimate concern to be had about repeating abelist tropes in artistic and analytic interpretations of her arc. what I am expecting, and mostly afraid of, is that her mental state will be used as a reason for why shes either irredeemable or completely right. same discussion with wilbur being a prick during the last days of pogtopia. I'm also worried about and anticipating a bit of a double standard where c!niki and wilbur are held to different levels of redeemability and awfulness even though their arcs and downward spiral are pretty similar, all things considered. yeah,,, there's not really much I can say on the matter. however, I will say, to anyone who in the future might attempt a comparison post between c!niki and wilbur's wrongdoings, that mental health issues are not an excuse for being a dick, but are part of the overall equation. and just because mental illness is included in that equation, does not mean that the answer equals "evil." think carefully about how you connect your ideas of amorality and villainy to each character's mental state. please try to remember that this is all for fun, and that, though the dsmp might tackle some serious topics, they are all told through the lens of amateur actors and writers, and, though those issues may be researched heavily, are probably not being told from expert perspective. and it's okay to see it as just a roleplay. anyways thanks for the ask)
