i've seen theories that aziraphale and crowley have kissed before and theories that crowley knew he was in love for a long time and theories that they both knew and their actions are not that of people who are unsure they're in love. but the thing that throws me off is when nina says "your partner" and he says "it's not like that" -- we watch him realize that the thing he and aziraphale have been doing is the same thing humans do. like he real time realizes that they are in a relationship. so then if we add in the idea that they've been doing this for millennia especially during times when being queer was not accepted and so they are loving each other quietly because their respective sides could LITERALLY destroy them for it, then i wonder exactly what he is realizing in that moment. if they knew that they were basically an item and they'd just been pretending that they weren't for fear of punishment, what is he feeling when nina calls him out? what is he going to say at that outdoor cafe? is it that he is surprised that someone else is picking up on what they are? is it that he wouldn't have reduced it to human terms? is he surprised that the jig is up and no one has come to smite them? because i think they DO both know they're in love. aziraphale is not threatened by shax's words in the car. crowley isn't truly worried about whatever this naked man thing is. they're together as much as they can be and as much as their push and pull allows. but what is he feeling when nina points it out?
