This is a member of Republican Congressman Tom Barret’s personal staff absolutely terrified of answering basic questions. I do not know his exact title, but he was in charge of answering constituent questions on behalf of his boss.
He was so terrified. He wore this expression the entire time, sweating bullets.
He kept saying, “We need to wrap this up, I gotta get back to work,” seemingly unaware that his job was to talk to us.
He was unable to say the first thing about Tom Barret’s platform. He was asked multiple times whether Barret would stand up to Elon Musk’s seizure of Americans’ personal information. His non committal answers were less than inspiring.
I post his image here, because it is his job to address the public. It is his job to know his boss’s politics inside and out. He’s either playing dumb, or he is being paid taxpayer money to do nothing.
He would say things like “I’m not clued into any of this. You’re asking the wrong guy.” What is this guy’s job? What is Tom Barret paying him for? What is Tom Barret funneling YOUR MONEY into this guy’s pockets for?
The most concerning thing he said was, “We are at the mercy of the judiciary.” Naturally, we asked him what he meant by that. He did not have an answer.
I asked him if Tom Barret, military veteran, was aware that Musk got his hands on the VA. He said he was. He could not give a conclusive answer as to whether or not he was willing to stand up to DOGE.
Obscure members of congress don’t seem to be training their personal staff to do anything. Like, this man was so unprepared, so nervous, so sweaty. If your local congressman or woman isn’t a household name, head down to their local office in your capital. See if they have a fall guy being payed to do nothing all day.
