Sam’s hand sunk into his hair and for a second he pulled the phone away from his ear so he could clear his throat without sounding like there were currently a hundred tears streaming down his face.
“Hey Jo it’s uh, it’s Sam. Sam Winchester. Look uh, something -- something went wro-” he had to stop, clear his throat again and try to continue. “Something went wrong on a hunt and Dean.... well he’s in the hospital. St. Andrew’s Memorial about three hours for your place. I umm, I thought maybe you’d wanna know. Dunno how long they’re keepin’ him but he hasn’t woken up yet. Call me back. Thanks.”

he was trying to keep his cool, he really was, but as the words left her mouth dean could feel his blood pressure skyrocketing. hands landing on hips as a loud sigh left his nostrils, pacing for a moment and biting his tongue. trying so hard not to blow up on her because he understood having to do some dirty shit to stay alive.
