“ it’s been the LONGEST day of my life, ” he muttered, his voice tangible with sleep & exhaustion SIMULTANEOUSLY. “ exhausted. ” he whispered, glancing around his surrounds -- the white walls W A S H E D with both fear & reassurance. he glanced down at the gown he was in, tugging at the ripped POLYESTER & furrowing his brow. “ i can’t believe this.. is what a psych ward looks like. ” he narrowed his eyes at the room, it was very CLINICAL to say it was meant to be his new bedroom - he’d miss the house. “ fuck. ” his voice broke as he spoke, the eerie definitive accent now much less than a whimper. “ i can’t believe i’m here. ”

monday was always a T E D I O U S L Y slow day - not literally, there was always an abundance of people at the garage of whom had broken cars that let them down over the weekend, but for reid. he hated them, & after the weekends events, this one was ESPECIALLY rough. he was four hours into his shift & had just finished a two hour job which required him under an old hatchback; now, he was stood against the desk, searching for the paperwork in order to sign it’s completion, his overalls covered in grease alongside his hands. he rolled his eyes to himself as he heard a presence behind him upon searching for the sheets. “ be with you in two, ” he muttered with as much P R O F E S S I O N A L I S M as he could, eventually digging out the correct work & turning to be greeted with a familiar face. “ oh, hi. ”

hands covered in grease and sweat forming in uncomfortable places: another one of her regular car checks going successful, nothing u n u s u a l there. this was her safe place, her sanity among living in a house of nonstop madness, and despite the stuffy heat from underneath the car, yas felt like she could actually BREATHE. solace, finally. it never did last long in a house full of people, and she should have known in retrospect that her solace would come to a ( screeching halt ), like that of rusty breaks on a neglected car. yasmine peered her head out from the small opening she had, strawberry lips warped into a grimace. “in case you haven’t noticed, i’m kind of underneath a vehicle right now — something that i happen to care much more about than, well, YOU. can this wait?”
