Something of a hybrid between a (necro)biologist and an engineer. Historically no one has ever done research into what/why/how vampires work (or if they have, they are no longer around and never wrote down their research), so Connie is pretty much filling that gap. She was a human scientist before she turned and she had so many questions like ‘but why the sun?’ ‘but why can’t we enter a house?’ ‘but why immortal?’ and everyone was like ‘idk it just is’ and Connie was like.... no. unacceptable.
At the same time, she kind of implements these discoveries in like, vampire hunting gear that Lenore and her crew use. For example, a vampire can’t enter a private residence without invitation. Connie figured out what like necrobiological process controls that and why it happens, and figured out a way to exploit that process in other ways, like making individual rooms private access.
It was basically an excuse to create cool vampire spy gadgets

Fears: heights, flying, failure
Weaknesses: Doesn’t want to cause problems
Strengths: always on his grind, works hard
26. Who is the most important person in their life? Why? Who is the least important to them (that still has an impact and why?
Most important person is Lenore, because they had shitty parents so they kind of helped each other out a lot growing up (Lenore especially did, she took the protective older sister label very seriously. Least important, the aforementioned shitty parents, for aforementioned shittiness.
30. Do they want to get married? Why or why not? Would they ever want kids? Do they have kids? Why?
Yes, because weddings include all his favourite things: his boy, attention, dressing up, parties. Also love I guess.
I don’t think Oscar is very parental, and I don’t think he sees himself as being a dad either. But that’s not a hard no either.

15. If your OC could have any pet, what would they choose? Why?
Lenore was the horse girl. She’d want a horse.
28. What kind of nervous habits do they have? Do they stim? Do they have any kinds of addictions?
I could see Lenore pacing when she’s nervous, and being very short tempered with people. She doesn’t have any addictions and she doesn’t stim.
31. What is their most traumatic memory/experience? What is their favorite memory?
The most traumatic would be the whole period of dying and becoming a vampire. I mentioned once on this blog about Oscar and Lenore having like beach bonfires with all their friends back home and her favourite memory is probably one of those nights.

I’ve never seen anyone get a sugar rush is this a real thing? Anyway I don’t think Freddie is one for sweets anyway
Connie
44. How does your character react/ accept criticism?
She tends to go very quiet, she needs a bit of time to think about it before she can act on the criticism
Violet
39. What is in your characters refrigerator right now? On their bedroom floor? Nightstand? Garbage can?
Violet is meticulously clean and tidy, there’s nothing out of place anywhere. She doesn’t own a fridge, and tbh I don’t think she even has garbage. I know this sounds like a copout but it’s not I promise.
Camille
19. What kind of music do they listen to? Do they have a favorite song?
I don’t think Camille listens to much music (she’s significantly older than the other characters so any music she did listen to probably doesn’t exist in a recorded format), but also Lenore has probably made Camille listen to music with her, so Camille has a surprising knowledge of like 90s-early 2000s pop in a ‘you don't work with Jake Peralta for three years without knowing what the "Funky Cold Medina" is’ kind of way

7. Did they have lots of friends as a child? Did they keep any of their childhood friends into adulthood?
Yeah, definitely, she wasn’t like, Heathers or Mean Girls popular (mostly because cliques don’t really exist here), but she had a lot of friends and would sneak out to parties a lot. I don’t think she really kept in touch with many of them though. I think she and Oscar moved away from a smaller town to a big city, so she still talks to them online sometimes but I think she only visits/gets visited by one maybe two.
31. Do they drink? What are they like drunk? What are they like hungover? How do they act when other people are drunk or hungover? Kind or teasing?
Idk if vampires can get drunk (I want to say yes bc it’s funny but it also doesn’t really fit with how vampires work in my universe), but when she was a human, Violet used to get like, white girl wasted. Like, way before the term existed. Just super loud and giggling at everything. And either she just didn’t get hungover or she’d cry the entire time. She’s usually pretty kind to people who’re hungover.
45. How do other people see them? Is it similar to how they see themselves?
an actual honest to goodness interaction with Connie I wrote like ages ago was “Sorry, I don’t remember your name.” “That’s okay, I’m not memorable.” and I think that sums it up
(she is interesting once you get to know her, but a lot of people don’t bother getting to know her. And that’s fine, she prefers it that way.)

“Why do they call you traitor?”
Connie grimaced. “It’s not what it sounds like,” she said. “I never worked for them. Not willingly at least. But when I was human I became part of a group of scientists investigating vampires. A lot of the same sort of thing I do now, but from the human side. It was going to be a massive breakthrough, but you’d never have heard of us now. One night we were all working late and our lab was stormed by Night Walkers. I don’t know how human societies explained that away, but no one was left alive. The last thing they’d want is for humans to be able to defend themselves.
“I don’t know why I was picked in particular, but instead of killing me, they turned me, and I became part of the experimental program at Warden’s Under Green. They wanted a scientist to get an edge on the rebels, I suppose, and they tortured and brainwashed me into doing their work.”
“How did they do that?”
Connie paused. “Have you ever been somewhere that’s so loud or so bright that it’s almost unbearable?”
“Like sensory overload?”
“The first weeks after being turned into a vampire is that, for every sense, all at once, constantly.”
Jude shivered at the thought.
“And while you’re that vulnerable, and still learning how to control your abilities, whoever finds you when you’re like that can pretty much make you do anything they want. And by the time you’re a person again you’re in too deep to leave.
“But I was lucky. The rebels staged a raid on the Warden’s facility a few months after that, before I could do anything too damaging. I managed to escape, and ended up working for Camille, willingly.” She averted her gaze. “And I don’t know what to do. The Night Walkers are awful, but most of the ones who end up at the end of Lenore’s stakes aren’t. They’re disposable and replaceable and that’s the whole point, that’s why they’re doing the grunt work. Killing them isn’t going to stop the Night Walkers, not in the long run, but I don’t know how to talk about that without sounding like a traitor. Camille imprisoned Lenore for an obviously false accusation, imagine what she’d do if I said anything even close to sympathetic towards Night Walkers.”
