This dance costume, constructed over a leotard of flesh-colored fabric with a fitted strapless bodice decorated with stripes comprised of white bugle beads, with a long flowing beaded skirt, was designed by Edith Head for Juliet Prowse’s Lili in the 1960 Elvis film 𝑮.𝑰. 𝑩𝒍𝒖𝒆𝒔.   The gown made a very brief appearance in the 1971 film 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑮𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒎 𝑮𝒂𝒏𝒈, where it was worn by Connie Stevens as Anna Borg.   This costume, owned by Larry McQueen of The Collection of Motion Picture Costume Design, has been on display several times over the years, including the Oklahoma City Museum of Art’s exhibition Edith Head: Hollywood’s Costume Designer.   Find out more by visiting our website.
