connor should get kidnapped at some point - bc he's the delivery guy/informant for a lot of different people through the city - and he's tied to a chair, bloody and tired, and mutters (mostly to himself) "man i had a job to run for matchstick tonight…" and the people guarding him laugh it off bc they think there's no way this little shit is in contact with matchstick

and that should be the first ever mention of her in the blackout files series

Rhiannon and Connor: A History

S.T.A.R (Search/Surveillance, Transport, Action + Rescue) is the search and rescue department of the Hero League.

When Electradash was a trainee STAR agent, her team was given a mission (her first) to find a missing boyfriend, who was rumoured to have developing abilities. While they did eventually find and return the bf, her team's search had uncovered increasingly suspicious activity that eventually lead them to uncover a science lab running illegal experiments.

When they had first started following their leads, and getting closer, they were intercepted by agents at, basically, the top of the League's food chain - the governing body that oversees and overrules everything Hero-League related. They are officially assigned to a top-secret incredibly confidential mission, one that there can be no record of outside of active work.

This mission becomes known as the 'back line' because the only remaining record of any of the team being on the mission is a black line through months worth of blank mission logs. Anything else, bar the team members themselves, that could be linked to the case was erased. Anything they'd needed- notes, surveillance photos, maps etc had to be done physically so ensure their later destruction.

The government did not want anyone to find out about the lab or what kind of experiments it had been running under the governments nose.

Uncovering and destroying the lab lead to Electradash rescuing a boy only a few months younger than her: Connor. He was one of the few remaining 'assets' - children who had been experimented on and had their genes fucked with.

the STAR team, as part of their mission, were in charge of rehabilitating and/or re-homing the rescued children. Rhiannon became Connor's friend, visiting him regularly even as he was moved out of rehabilitation and into various foster homes.

As they grew up, they grew apart. It was never anything malicious, they were just kids who became adults. Even though the love was never lost, years passed with them rarely even thinking of one another.

Electradash is scouted by other departments and eventually is moved up through the ranks until she becomes a Hero-League member!! Her and Connor reunite as young adults, when Electradash sorta,, recommends him for a job that the Heroes need done.

Though they haven't spoken, or really seen each other, Rhiannon has kept tabs on Connor - enough to know 1. where he is, and 2. that he's still running the same jobs he did when they were kids.

Their history as friends paired with the realisation that they're basically strangers now causes some strain on their relationship, a strain that is not fixed until Connor is basically kidnapped by the Bad Guys.

Though they don't yet suspect him of being the mole, he doubts it will be long. But, pretty much any time he starts freaking out, he just thinks "it's okay, she'll find me again." Meanwhile, Rhiannon/Electradash are cracking skulls trying to track him down, desperate enough to even contact Strepera; the cities resident demon vigilante.

When it's all over, and the dust has cleared and Connor is back to stealing exam answers and scamming rich uni students - he and Rhiannon get coffee. They don't want to be strangers anymore.
