Maryellet Hard to believe it’s been a year since the fire at San Luis Rey Downs training centre. I almost lost Conquest Typhoon, my heart horse, that day, who was missing for a few days after the fire because his face was so badly burnt he couldn’t be recognised. I am so incredibly grateful to all of the doctors and everyone at the farm and hospital who saved his life (and allowed me to go visit him in the hospital and feed him lots of 🍌🍌). Not to mention the racing team(s) that brought him back to full health and into the winner’s circle. And now he runs tomorrow, 366 days after the fire that almost took him 💕

Dubai Sky and Jose Lezcano won the Spiral Stakes at Turfway, 21 March 2015. Dubai Sky, whose first two races were on turf, remains unbeaten with three for three.

Conquest Typhoon and Mike Smith finished second by a neck, with Firespike and Miguel Mena in third. Full result here.
