Only one of a million problems with Voting Blue No Matter Who (VBNMW) - she was undoubtedly already a GOP-lite, conservative “Democrat.” Look, no one is saying that you should vote for a Republican, but for any primary election you gotta vote for thee most progressive candidate.
Joe Manchin, Kyrsten Sinema, Dan Lipinsky, Gene Green, Henry Cuellar, Jared Golden & Marie Gluesenkamp Perez are living proof that voting as progressively as possible in the primaries is probably far more important than being reduced to choosing between “the lesser of two evils” in the general election.
Democratic Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer just voted for the Republican CR.
This is the fucking guy who just caved to Trump and Republican demands.
Keep in mind, this is what he was saying right before the Democrats lost to Trump in 2016, and now in 2025, Schumer has concocted another reason for appeasement.
It remains me of something I once read:
“One particularly maddening aspect of our current politics is that Democrats feel beholden to rules that Republicans feel entitled to burn.
Democrats creatively interpret rules in ways that inevitably frustrate their ability to wield power, while Republicans creatively use their power to get around the rules.
Democrats invent constraints on themselves, ostensibly to restrict Republicans, while these same Republicans long ago decided to use maximal power to achieve their goals.”
It’s well past time for voters to retire Chuck Schumer.
Joe Biden suddenly pardoning so many people and giving them commutations at the very last minute kinda makes you wonder: if he didn’t pardon his son Hunter, would he have even bothered with these other recent pardons? Please don’t get me wrong, I’m ecstatic for the people who are getting second chances from mass incarceration (let’s not talk about who had a big hand in making mass incarceration a thing), but when and where you plant your flag matters. Why so many people now? Why not earlier, or throughout his presidency? Yes, I know that it is normal for presidents to issue pardons at the tail end of their terms, but this number just screams of a convenient distraction for pardoning Hunter (yeah, yeah, I know that Trump is exponentially worse and will pardon J6 traitors, but he was gonna do that anyway, no matter what Biden did).
Sorry if you’re a liberal sycophant, but EYE am not here to blow sunshine up Biden’s ass. We must hold truth to power. Biden was as disastrous for social justice and democracy as Bill Clinton was, and in fact, history will show that Biden governed as a somewhat “moderate” conservative Republican, similar to Bill Clinton.
And that’s without even getting into how Biden, who valued following norms above achieving justice, ignored all norms and international human rights laws to support Israel’s genocide of Palestinians. That’s without even getting into how Biden changed immigration laws for the worse, and required asylum seekers to wait in Mexico until our immigration system gets around to them—sometimes years or decades later. That’s without getting into Covid and how Biden blocking the Wellstone Act and siding with Gilead Sciences helped make life-saving medicines unaffordable. That’s without even getting into how Biden sued to continue using Trump’s immigration laws that were harder on Haitian refugees (see Title 42).
“Better than being in a car accident” is a shit metric for nominating our political leaders.
This is not rocket science. Democrats competing with Republicans for white conservative votes, while both parties shit on leftists and progressives, is stupid. Republican voters are n-e-v-e-r going to pick a Republican-lite candidate over an actual Republican!
If you disagree, then think about how, under his leadership, Democrats lost all three branches of government to openly racist politicians, many of whom are sexual predators and abusers. Why does the Democratic Party even want the votes of people who lionize racists and rapists?? The very best thing that the DNC could do would be to exorcize all traces of Clintonism and Bidenism, and stop trying to “triangulate” with conservatives.
Biden’s presidency was disastrous—better than Trump, but still disastrous—and where he really decided to use his power the most was even more disastrous.
L👀k who sold out migrants & asylum seekers just to save his own sorry ass
The Department of Justice has directed federal prosecutors to drop corruption charges against Mayor Eric Adams, handing him a political lifeline as he seeks reelection.
News of the directive comes on the same day the Democratic mayor ordered his senior officials to refrain from criticizing President Donald Trump, whom Adams has courted since his reelection, according to the outlet . The Justice Department directed the Manhattan U.S. Attorney’s office to drop the charges “without prejudice,” according to a copy of a letter from the acting deputy U.S. attorney general by multiple outlets.
“The Justice Department has reached this conclusion without assessing the strength of the evidence or the legal theories on which the case is based,” the letter reads, deferring to federal prosecutors. The letter notes that the case should be reviewed after the November 2025 mayoral election.
As the news broke, Adams was dining at a restaurant with John Catsimatidis, the Republican billionaire. In a shared on social media by a Fox News reporter, the mayor said his team had been notified of the possibility that the charges would be dropped.
“I’m going to reach out to my attorney,” Adams said, adding that he did not want to offer a reaction before learning more. “As I’m sitting here, calls are coming through,” he added.
Both Trump and Adams have claimed they were wrongly prosecuted by the Department of Justice under the Biden administration. Adams’ lawyer is Alex Spiro, who has represented billionaire Trump adviser Elon Musk.
“As I said from the outset, the mayor is innocent—and he would prevail. Today he has,” Spiro said in a statement on Monday. “The Department of Justice has reevaluated this case and determined it should not go forward. There is good reason for that. The facts of the case are clear: the mayor never used his official position for personal benefit. Nor did he have any role in violating campaign finance laws.”
Spiro continued, “Despite a lot of fanfare and sensational claims, ultimately there was no evidence presented that he broke any laws, ever. The witnesses that were promised never materialized. The additional charges that were threatened never came. Now, thankfully, the mayor and New York can put this unfortunate and misguided prosecution behind them.”
Federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Prosecutors accused Adams in September of accepting travel perks from people affiliated with the Turkish government. In exchange, they argued, Adams used his influence to expedite the opening of a new Turkish consulate on the East Side, overruling fire inspectors who had found safety violations.
Prosecutors also accused Adams of accepting straw donations to mask illegal foreign donations to his 2021 campaign.
“These are bright red lines and we allege that the mayor crossed them again and again for years,” said Damian Williams, who was the U.S. attorney for the Southern District at the time.

So Henry Cuellar has been indicted for bribery, foreign influence and corruption. Henry Cuellar, the Islamophobic, homophobic, anti-abortion, anti-immigrant, anti-gun control “Democrat” who often voted with Trump.
Hm.
That’s wild af.
Too bad there’s not someone who was more honest and trustworthy who the DNC and the DCCC could have backed and promoted back when Cuellar was running for office.
That’s really too bad, especially since the margin for the Senate and the House will probably be sO damn close in 2024. Too bad there wasn’t a pro-gun control, pro-immigration, pro-LGBTQ candidate that Democrats could have rallied behind. Instead of funding a conservative, anti-abortion Republican who just called himself a Democrat.
Because if there really was a pro-choice, pro-immigration, pro-gun control candidate who Democrats could have backed, then a lot of people would probably be saying “I FUCKING TOLD YOU SO” right about now. Yeah, I would probably be a little bit pressed. Angry even.
But what do I know, right? I mean, it probably doesn’t matter that AIPAC poured millions and millions against…
Know what, never mind. I guess we’re all good doe, because there wasn’t anyone else who could have taken that seat, the seat that was in a safe Democratic district.
Maybe Democrats will learn and support an actual progressive next time?
It’s all too bad.
If anything, Biden has been unforgivably stingy with pardons and commutations 👎🏿👎🏿
Trump can go fuck himself, but let’s not lose sight of the underlying issue here: Joe Biden could have been using his pardon power for good all along, to change the lives of unfairly convicted people for the better — but he hasn’t.
How many pardons have other presidents issued?
There is a long-standing precedent of US presidents on both sides of the political divide issuing pardons - including to people close to them. This is (only) the 26th pardon issued by Biden, a Democrat.
In 2020, Trump, a Republican, pardoned Charles Kushner, the father-in-law of his daughter Ivanka. Kushner was sentenced to two years in prison in 2004 for charges including tax evasion, campaign finance offences and witness tampering.
And in 2001, Bill Clinton, pardoned his younger half-brother, Roger Clinton, for a cocaine-related offence that dated back to 1985.
In both cases, the pardons were given to people who had already served a sentence. President Biden's intervention in his son's case comes before sentencing.
Trump granted 237 acts of clemency during his four years in the White House, according to the Pew Research Center, comprising 143 pardons and 94 commuted sentences. [Mostly conservative political allies and cronies.] Many were in a flurry before he left office.
That number is significantly fewer than his predecessor Barack Obama, who during his eight-year stint granted 1,927 acts of clemency, according to Pew. These were 1,715 commutations and 212 pardons.
Most of those who received executive clemency under Obama had been convicted of narcotics charges at the height of the so-called US war on drugs. (source)
And the lesson that the Democrats are taking from this is that actually need to go more to the right.
On MSNBC, Luis Jordan says, quote, “The progressive era has to end if Democrats want to win again.”
We have Harris surrogate, Lindy Lee, a member of the DNC National Finance Committee and Pennsylvania Commissioner told Fox News, quote, “People are wondering tonight what would have happened had Shapiro been on the ticket. And not only in terms of Pennsylvania, he's famously a moderate. So that would have signaled to the American people that Harris is not the San Francisco liberal that Trump said she was. But she went with someone actually to her left.”
Chuck Todd on MSNBC said the night of the election that perhaps John Fetterman should be the North Star of the Democratic Party and points to his over-the-top loyalty to Israel as a main reason. Seth Moulton, who is a liberal in Congress, quote, “Identity politics hurt Democrats. I have two little girls. I don't want them getting run over on a playing field by a formerly male athlete. But as a Democrat, I'm supposed to be afraid of saying that.”
This is all after the election outcome, by the way.
New York Congressman Tom Suzy, quote, “Democrats have got to stop pandering to the left. I don't want to discriminate against anybody, but I don't think biological boys should be playing in girls' sports.”
An anonymous House Democratic Party aide, quote, “AOC is toxic to the Democratic Party. Her primetime DNC speaking slot played directly into the narratives that lost us this election.”
—THEN BECOME A FUCKING REPUBLICAN, DUDE
