Took a gamble on this GBP bundle, I'm having my assistant check things over first!
I also still need to finish working on fixing up a DS Lite that had a issue with the D pad. My knowledge is very limited on this sort of thing, it doesn't take much for me to just say "fuck, man- I don't know what I'm looking at."
This part. This fucking part. I'm gonna set it on fire.
Without further ado, I bring you Alfie’s little brother, Teddy! Teddy has a bit of a beauty mark along the top right of his disk top, but after a quick clean he’s already running leagues better! It’s gonna take a little more finagling to get him at a pace where he can be adopted, but I have high hopes!
Cracked open the busted Game Boy Pocket today and it was filled with micro dust bunnies! The plastic cleaned up well but the circuit board is still unresponsive even after a good cleaning, I'm going to try some more things out tomorrow.
But the screen is a hot mess. Usually with a burned screen you can just replace the polorization film (which is still on in the third pic) but it looked just as bad when I took it off, and it wasn't just from the adhesive.
Current diagnosis of this restoration is "Satan showed his butthole to the console and it has now been irrelerably cursed to bear that image"
Our newest friend, Alfie!!! He and his brother, Teddy, came to me all the way from Florida to get themselves a new home! Teddy needs a bit of sprucing before he’s ready to go on-stage (a bit camera shy, I think ;)) but Alfie is working amazing so far! I’m gonna have to do some more testing, a little TLC, but with a bit of luck and love this nice fella will be ready for adoption soon enough!
Restoring junk Xbox One S Controller - Console Restoration
I'm almost disappointed I didn't have to do any real fixing on this bad boy, but getting a fully functioning GBP for junk console price is pretty awesome, especially after my last two having really messed up parts.
I did have to file off some corrosion on the battery ports and clean flux off of the board (as well as removing what I think was a dead bug)
I want to move on to GBAs but the price gets higher even just for buying junk.
