for fun! the audio flow is built around Dante, including comms, so we get to do some really fun routing.

I generally dislike wearing cans through long days, but they are handy for checking lavs and such before they take stage or listening back to live stream/program returns. so I decided to repurpose some lectrosonics in-ears to serve this purpose instead.

The output of the comms panel gets sent over a dante channel into the audio console. An output mix takes that channel and the output of my cue buss and sends it to the lectrosonics transmitter. so when I pop in my ears I don't miss comms and I can check a mic faster with less overlapping noise of a comms panel, room noise, and set of monitors.

It's been a really slow maintenance period, but we finally got the p.a retuned and delays set appropriately and holy hell, it sounds so good and is so clean and easy to work with.

Like "bypass our lav ring out and put out some DPA 4060 omnis in the room and let it rip full volume with no ring and a fold back 44s on stage" kind of clean and easy to work with.

Obvi I still love our Shure UL4s and don't think they are going anywhere, but the 4060s sound so nice for broadcast and they are so discreet.

Outside of that, I spent a long time organizing and compiling and transcoding walk-ups only to realize that iTunes is still a thing and QLAB happily plays AAC files. Plus we get cross venue coordination between walk ups. So I did that work for nothing. But! It was good!

Whenever I hear news about a Nintendo Switch Pro. Seriously... in this economy? I already have my system... don't need another. Pretty sure others feel similarly.

Having to pay $400 or so for another one... hell no. Big difference between moving up from a 3ds to a new 3ds to moving up from a Switch to a Switch Pro.
