Princess Mi Amore Cadenza
(Forgive my usual lack of format and enjoy a short, sad story below.)
The Crystal Kingdom was gone, disappeared in the blizzard like it had never been there. Consort Crescendo had been told to flee, to escape with his daughter. It was the only thing keeping him from letting his grief destroy him worse than the snow storm around them.
Queen Amore… his love was gone. All that was left of her was the small pink pegasus he had bundled in his hooves. The pegasus stallion needed to get her somewhere safe and warm. But it was hard to move quickly on just his back legs, and the winds around him made it impossible to fly.
Did he even know which direction Equestria was? All Crescendo saw was white. Cold white snow crunching under his hooves, flurrying through the air, and clouds coloring the sky.
In his rush to leave, he had grabbed a coat for himself, and scooped up his daughter in the blankets she had laid in. But even now he worried that it wasn’t enough. It felt like hours passed as he walked, but feeling her small body shivering against his heart gave him the motivation to keep going.
In one inattentive moment his foot slipped, and to keep from falling on his daughter he thrust his wings downward, propelling himself into the howling winds. Although he tried desperately to return to the ground, in the end he had to use all his strength to hold onto his daughter as the wind flung him around like a rag doll.
He found himself moving fast into the path of a boulder. Knowing there was no time to dodge, he managed to move himself so at least it would hit his back instead of the precious cargo in his arms. Pain was the last thing he felt before the world went black.
Light shining on and off, and the weirdest whirring he had ever heard woke Crescendo. Although he couldn’t feel his body, somehow he still felt a weak small heartbeat against his own. She was still alive, thank Celestia!
When he opened his eyes, he wasn’t sure what he was looking at. A tall blue box? With bright windows and a light shining on top? The blizzard was now just a light flutter of snow, but the land was still flat and desolate as ever. What was this in the middle of nowhere?
The side opened up- a door? And a brown stallion pony came out, seemingly arguing with the box. Crescendo struggled to breathe, but he knew he had to get help for his daughter. He wheezed, but eventually managed to cry out,
“Help!”
“Oy! What’s this? Hold on, fella.”
The brown pony waved some kind of metal stick over him, but Crescendo didn’t have time to worry about the odd behavior.
“My.. daughter… . Please… save. Save… Cadence.”
