Opinion
7/10
I wasn’t aware of it being a sequal to Story of Yanxi Palace when I started watching Princess Adventures but I needed a change in my likes of Horror movies and Disney classics, when it popped up it reminded me of a drama I had watched before ( Series: The Ghost Bride ) except without all the supernatural stuff and I am actually planning to watch the original series and review that also!
I really liked the episodes and watched about 3 in one setting and was really bummed out when I found out I finished already. I’m really hoping there will be more of this drama. In the beginning you have to get used to the Chinese way of filming. The sounds are exaggerated and it’s obvious they added some sounds but as soon as you get used to that the flow is easy to follow. the last and beforelast episodes however go totally off the natural storyline they had going but it also makes it more interesting to watch because you wonder what will happen next.
Each episode starts with traditional music and the entire series is based in the emperor times of China. I love these types of series a lot and this was absolutely no disappointment. Vibrant colors and a good plot. Please Netflix give us more!
