River loved the adventures. She loved the danger. Of course, she loved it more if it involved the Doctor but she didn't really mind one when she was alone. It was better than sitting somewhere by herself being bored.
She was just about to protect (yet another) planet from being destroyed by a Sontaran army. She was walking down one of the corridors when two of them turned up and she had to hide behind a corner, her heart beating somewhere in her neck, breathing as quietly as she could. She was lucky- they didn't notice her. They walked past her involved in a conversation. She frowned softly before taking several steps in the direction they came from.
And right there and then she bumped into someone and gasped rather audibly, thinking it was a Sontaran. But it wasn't. Unless it was an enormously tall Sontaran. "I am sorry, I-" she stopped in mid-sentence, realizing who she was talking to. She'd seen that face, on a picture, but she recognized it anyway. "Hello, sweetie." She smiled at him, still surprised to see him there and sort of glad to meet another incarnation.
