Germany is mourning a gas station clerk who was killed on Saturday after asking a customer to wear a face mask.
The 20-year-old student was shot in the head in the western town of Idar-Oberstein by an irate customer who was refused service for not wearing a mask while trying to buy beer.
Trier police said the 49-year-old suspect told officers he had acted "out of anger" and rejected coronavirus restrictions.
The suspect has been linked to COVID-19 conspiracy theorists and the far right.
Public figures are now warning of growing radicalization within Germany's Querdenken coronavirus skeptics movement.
