"Dearest Bree,
I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be here, but I have the strongest feeling that here is where I'm supposed to be. It wasn't quite 'whom shall I send,' but something close. And so was my answer. That's Isaiah, if you don't know…chapter six, verse eight. 'Here I am. Send me.' I heard that call, too. How can I sit idly by watching men much younger than myself prepare for a battle I know they will lose?
I think my father must have heard the same call when he joined the RAF. I wonder if he was as scared as I am. God willing, I'll see you soon. God willing, I'll see Jemmy and Mandy, too. I love you all.
For now and always, I am your husband, Roger."

Abernethy Medieval Round Tower, Abernethy, Perth and Kinross
One of only two Irish style medieval round towers in Scotland; likely to date from circa 1100s.
Doing the dishes, fulfilling responsibilities, walking around, laughing, drinking, listening to music, and talking to people with a heavy heart that has grown used to the pain. It feels like pretending; it doesn’t feel real, yet it is reality.

“as the garden grows, so shall the gardener.”
— engraved with the words, a weathered stone half-buried in a garden bed of bark chips and fallen twigs
What a STUNNING scene! 🦊🦡 We were sent this footage by Rachel Rodgers in South Lincs, who filmed a family of foxes feeding alongside a badger surrounded by oxeye daisies 😍 What would you like to know about these two wonderful species? @hannahstitfall and @strachan.michaela will be talking all about them on BBC Two, tomorrow night at 8pm! 📺 #Springwatch 🐣🌿
