and let’s face it, Ella is from the south so she loves her odd tacky trinkets (when she’s on tour with Alex and they go to a truck stop, she’d acquire a bunch of shit she doesn’t need but those ugly ass studded denim caps speak to her) and she’d actually fucking adore it and keep it in display next to her jewelry box.
it’d be so fucking funny as well when ella posts a picture of the most beautiful fucking ring ever (which is definitely a big starbrite cut green sapphire with little stunning citrine accents around it, cos of course Alex would match it to the colour of her eyes) in the most obnoxiously tacky little ring box and everyone starts commenting congratulations but taking the piss out of the box choice, Ella would get so defensive about it because she genuinely adores it with her whole heart.
still, everyone would be obsessed with the video he managed to take of it happening: her sobbing into her hands as she sees him getting down in one knee only for her sobs turn into cackles when he pulls the cowboy hat box out of his pocket.
