We recently got our house sprayed with all sorts of poisons to kill the insects and arachnids and shit (I live in Australia and I do not like spiders, don't @ me) and we're supposed to wear footwear for like 2 weeks to a month after the spraying so as not to step directly on the poison.
I gave up wearing my slippers after about day 3 and kept saying things like "ah... pOison" (pronouncing poison as pwasson), and "welp if it kills me it kills me", much to my parents' horror.
