four (ish) headcanons I am making up about our characters
Carla rescued Quynh from a watery grave of course! And she doesn't regret that in the slightest. After being told Quynh was an immortal, and a very LONG lived immortal at that, she weighed her pros and cons of indulging int he kind of research that would uncover a type of immortality, and decided against it, ultimately. Carla actually isn't interested in attaining immortality, although deconstructing it to dismantle it might be fun.
When Quynh mentioned Jill Valentine in relation to Booker, Carla paused and had a choice to make. She had been tagging along for Quynh's torture revenge plot and wondering, sincerely, why all of it was going to this one uninvolved man. After some consideration, she decided that yes, she was smart enough to tango mentally with a queen of a bygone age in order to break Booker out of the torment loop he was in.
Carla started to KEENLY listen to Quynh, and feign interest (not too much), and lathed attention and praise on Quynh so that the woman unfortunately was having a REALLY good time in her company. It was step one in the seduction act. Carla WAS HAVING FUN. It was just because she was PROFESSIONALLY MANIPULATING THIS WOMAN. Carla played on the "oh I'm very lonely and unique" card, and seduced Quynh over a PERIOD OF TIME.
And then she stole Jill's dad and bounced, dumping him at Jill's doorstep to curry favor for Valentine's blood. Bro it fucking worked.
