Thoughts on ̶C̶a̶s̶t̶l̶e̶v̶a̶n̶i̶a̶'̶s̶ Dracula himself?
(I assume you’re speaking about exclusively CV Dracula? I’m going to answer accordingly but if you want me to speak on Dracula as a whole I can absolutely do that in a later post)
First of all, as I just posted, WHAT a handsome man. Handsomest Dracula in any adaptation--in my opinion--and there’s plenty of rivals in his field. Also, excellent voice.
Just in general, obviously a terribly sad story. While he certainly takes it too far, I’d be fucking pissed too and I’m so sad he didn’t get the family and happy ending he wanted 3
My whole life. I always drew a lot, but I started drawing every single day when I was 12. I started pushing myself to improve when I was 14 (after joining deviantart and having the rude awakening that my skill level wasn’t as hot as I thought it was…)5. What’s your favorite thing to draw?
Birds! Animals in general, and birds of prey in particular! And creatures (griffins *u*). I also really love drawing funny, exaggerated expressions and cute, cartoony characters.
6. What’s your least favorite thing to draw?
Architecture and vehicles. Things without faces are the hardest for me to draw; I gotta be able to connect with my art subject, I gotta know what they’re feeling.
Something pretty similar to this actually exists. It’s actually pretty good. Also very smutty. But that isn’t a surprise with the Lotura fandom.
Anyways this is my first time writing with these characters, so for people who know them, this might feel a little wonky. XD
And for you, because I know you only read Lotura fics and don’t know a thing about canon, this shouldn’t be an issue. *shot*
Pre-writing thoughts: I dare you to tell me Lotor didn’t have a crush on Allura the moment he met her in any universe because trust me, he does. Also sorry there is like no actual sciencey stuff it’s like...12:00 AM, I’m tired, and while an AU where they were actual scientists in a lab working for a research grant would be good, my brain is unable to come up with extended stuff for that that wouldn’t be more than a drabble.
When it came to class, Lotor always seemed to be above them all. In language he was the most eloquent speaker. In math he was the first one to get through his calculations. He could recite famous names, events, and locations of the past with ease. He was running As in all of the aforementioned subjects.
Chemistry was another matter altogether.
It wasn’t, perse, that the concepts were difficult. The formulas were simple enough to grasp, and balancing equations was an easy task for his mind.
It was the fact that he couldn’t bother to focus for ten minutes when he was constantly sneaking looks over at his crush/lab partner Allura, who also happened to be the only person doing better than him in the class.
Which speaking of Allura, he once more caught his mind wandering off to her and what she was doing as the professor droned on about the techniques for this lab. It wasn’t like he hadn’t followed the basic laboratory procedures before. So it left his mind a little room to wander as he attempted to screw up the courage to ask Allura on a date.
“I wish the professor wasn’t quite so...enthusiastic about lab safety, don’t you?” He almost jumped as he heard Allura speak, like he hadn’t expected her to talk during a lecture.
Lotor nodded though. “I can agree to that. It would be nice if we could start the lab today before the class ended.”
“Lotor, Allura, no talking during class.” The teacher declared. “Detention.”
“Professor...erm...we’re in college,” Allura pointed out, speaking on his behalf.
“Doesn’t matter, detention, both of you!” And with that the duo shut up and looked at each other, honestly clueless and with a slight shrug returned to ignoring the professor and doing their own thing.
But given they were going to be stuck for a bit after class while the professor chewed them out, Lotor could only hope it might give them something to bond over.

The first character I first fell in love with: Abel. Always Abel.
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Honestly, Esther. I chalk that up to how blah she is in the anime adaptation vs the Spicy Angry-Driving Heroine she is in the manga! Also Petros, I guess, for similar reasons. And Tres??? Honestly, all the TB kids are so good and I love most of them.
The character everyone else loves that I don’t: Isaak. The RCO/RKO seem to have a lot of fans, and I just… don’t like those characters. At all.
The character I love that everyone else hates: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I know of one person who hates Abel, does that count?
The character I used to love but don’t any longer: Probably Havel, but that has to do with his portrayal in the anime vs how he is in the novels >_> I also used to tolerate Silent AngstBoy Hugue more than I do now- I don’t dislike him, I just find his episodes/chapters boring. (The exception is his singular appearance in the manga; that was great!)
The character I would totally smooch: Abel <3 I just want to pinch his cheeks and offer him candy!
The character I’d want to be like: Esther and/or Seth
The character I’d slap: Cain, Dietrich, Radu… Vanessa, I guess??
A pairing that I love: my rarepair OTP is Abel/Esther

Ah, the "Castlevania" was just a callback from your post earlier today. It was more of asking for thoughts on the general character of Dracula regardless of adaptations (maybe a bit too broad to ask tbh). I appreciate your thoughts on Castlevania's Dracula though!

I love Dracula... I love him so much as a character because I think there are so many different ways to interpret them and none of them are wrong. (Okay like two of them are)
There’s the caricature of the “Invader from the East” which is lightly explored in Dracula: Pages from a Virgin’s Diary. There’s the cold cruel calculating bastard. There’s the doomed romantic monster who’s looking for love and thinks killing people will get him there. And there’s the weepy mess of a creature who just wants to die (aka Hellsing).
I mean, not all of them are canon true, but ehhh it’s public domain. My book Dracula is evil but lonely... like, he’s centuries old and looking for an equal, biding his time with shadows of connection and affection (his brides). And he’s trying to seek connection and acceptance in the ‘civilized’ world but he’ll aways be an evil and blasphemous creature.
@constitutionalstandstill my thoughts were that Jan fucks anything (therefore not homophobic) and Maxwell may be Catholic but he’s dreadfully perverted from the ideal bishop and is indulges in sinful things like mass murder. Also sex being a sin has never stopped the Catholic Church from being very lusty in the past ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Aqua: Not only would I die for Aqua but she could kill me herself and it’d be an honor.
Allura: I’m iffy on this one. Allura’s not actually one of my favorite characters after s7, but definitely pre the most recent season I would’ve died for her.
Belle: ONLY IF IT’S SEASON 1-3 BELLE FUCK ANY BELLE AFTER. And by that I mean I would die for the real Belle but not the weird clone thing that took her place and was written terribly.

OKay so first of all Lotor and Allura had feelings for each other like...long before s5. Just they were like real complicated because they both thoroughly impressed each other. It also caused Allura to be like...very polarizing when Lotor was treated as a prisoner in s5 because some days she’d be super kind and others she’d be crueler than the rest of them.
Whenever they could slip away from the ship Lotor and Allura would return to Oriande, partially because the place has very fond memories for them, partially because they both still hoped the White Lion would give Lotor a second chance. They didn’t refer to them as dates but they were certainly a lot more intimate there than they were at the Castle of Lions.
Speaking of the Castle of Lions like...the only reason they didn’t fully act on their feelings there was the timing. They wanted to make sure the universe was safe first before they announced to the world they were together (hence why the kiss doesn’t happen until after the preliminary tests) but I will be damned if they weren’t together beforehand they were.
Their real first kiss happened in the rift. Emotions were heightened and they were so excited about everything going well and were together in the Sincline ships alone and just ended up kissing.
Moving off of “They were together throughout like the entire show and I’ll fight anybody who disagrees” Lotor has this like...fixation with Allura’s hair, like whenever he has the chance he’s constantly playing with it. It’s like one of the most common casual signs of affection they have.
Don’t think Allura doesn’t have a thing she does too but hers are a lot more subtle because the environment Lotor lived in as a child like...makes him very wary of human contact so rather than just randomly grabbing Lotor’s hair and playing it she does like a lot of gentle touches to the shoulder while he’s watching and Lotor’s like this touch starved child when it comes to this.
After Lotor rejoins the team and everything’s good between them, Allura teaches Lotor how to play Monsters and Mana, and he ends up choosing an elf to complement her character. But like where as Allura’s uses summoning magic his uses more like...elemental magic.
On that note nobody likes when Lotor and Allura play Monsters and Mana together because the two of them stop focusing on the game to have random sided conversations and their characters are together so it results in some constantly ship scenes during the campaigns when all they want to do is explore caves and shit.
So if gameshow Lotor is to be believed Lotor is really good at drawing and after like s3 his sketches go from like the worlds he’s visited to almost exclusively Allura and one day Allura finds these drawings and he’s just like “Allura ignore these I was just infatuated at the time and couldn’t get you out of my head.” and she’s like “Lotor why would I ignore these they’re beautiful.”
Okay so last one because this is getting really long. If Lotura were to have a wedding Allura’s wedding party would consist of Pidge and Acxa. Lotor’s would probably consist of Lance, Hunk, and Keith. Coran and Shiro share duties as Allura’s father.
