Scrapbook Saturday: UWM Physics Building and Planetarium Construction Scrapbook
This 1966 scrapbook showcases the construction of the Physics Building and Manfred Olson Planetarium here at UW-Milwaukee during the mid 1960s. Filled with candid and posed photographs, plenty of witty commentary, and explanations of different construction processes, this scrapbook offers a glimpse into the day-to-day construction projects from the perspective of Physics Professor Emeritus Manfred Olson, for whom the Manfred Olson Planetarium is named.
These first few pages highlight some of the people who worked on the project as well as the beginnings of the construction process, with helpful and humorous hand-drawn diagrams and notations by Manfred Olson. Stay tuned for more #ScrapbookSaturday posts!
This scrapbook can be found in Box 36 of the UW-Milwaukee Photographs Collection (call number UWM AC 6) at the UWM Archives.
