Just got (and deleted lmao) my first shitty anon fic comment on ao3 (on that account anyway) that just...didn't seem to have actually read the fic??? And was complaining about shit that i don't really think i wrote?? But also that barebacking someone you don't know is dangerous and terrible and I've ruined their life by not tagging it (paraphrased) and I'm just like
those sure were words i read on a website
Not to be a stalker, but I know exactly what mean comment you're talking about. It's incredible that you do such extensive research to understand what you're writing about, and the fact that someone just pops up to talk crap on your hard work is beyond infuriating to me. Genuine criticism is one thing, but that wasn't such. Also, I totally get what you mean about comments being non-existent on AO3. People just don't like commenting on that site for some reason. Much love, Love! ♥️♥️♥️
Ah, thanks. ❤️ Sadly that’s not the only mean comment I’ve gotten, but it’s the only one I’ve bothered to post and respond to. I don’t deal with blatant trolls anymore. :)
Sometimes I see people critiquing rwby fight scenes, and I'm about to get mad, and then they say something that reveals they have never studied martial arts or animation or even film basics, and all the anger goes out of me and I just laugh.
... y’all that wasn’t an invitation to be outright nasty
It's awesome how my creative writing professor implied that my poetry isn't on the collegiate level and my language is too simple. As if I'm not already bad at taking criticism as it is, but now you're going to go blatantly insulting my writing ability in front of our entire class.
AU: Where the Shameless fandom is positive.
i don't really understand why anyone would want to be a "critic" of any kind. i mean, i'm thinking that being a journalist is a totally different and much more respectable thing, right? you're there to document whatever it is you cover, to report the truth, or as much of it as you can anyway. and like, i don't know, that's a form of story telling and it's something that's respectable. but if you can just sit there and call yourself a "critic" and judge peoples' art but create NONE of your own, just back the fuck OFF man.
