Squirrels! I would have a lot more respect for this kind of theft if they at least had let it ripen. But to take a bite and leave it.... Squirrels 3, me 0.

Experiment #7: Butternut Squash (the small kind)
Scooped the seeds from a small variety of butternut squash (bush squash I believe it’s called). A few days later, these two cuties popped up. You could just about watch them grow in a day. Next time, I will do a timelapse.
Update: Moved the two siblings along with a few others that sprouted to slightly larger containers. I didn’t have anything the right size around the house, so I used old water bottles cut in half with some holes punched in the bottom for drainage.
Update: These babies have been growing fast out in the sun all day!
Update 07/11/20: Transplanted to a grow bag in coir
1/22/21 Today's sprouts brought to you by the letter 'R': radicchio and romanesco.
10/24/20 Ok who ate the leaf off of my Meyer lemon tree? Not cool.
10/16/20 One last hope for getting a squash this year.
10/14/20 I tried to save you, but it's no use.
09/11/20 Dear Squash, the rent is too damn high, so unless you’re chipping in, enough with the lateral takeover of the yard. Grow upwards!
PS. you’re beautiful.
09/02/20 My pal the squirrel has been gnawing on my prize squash. I sprinkled some coffee grounds around, supposedly they don’t like the smell. We’ll see what happens.
