The orders fall just short of a full lockdown, and it wasn’t immediately clear how, or to what degree, they would be enforced. People will still be able to go shopping for essential items such as food and household supplies, and seek medical care.
oh boy, we’re in it now. Highlights: The directive begins at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday and involves San Francisco, Santa Clara, San Mateo, Marin, Contra Costa and Alameda counties It is to stay in place until at least April 7 Sonoma, Solano and Napa counties were not immediately included People in the six counties will still be able to go shopping for items such as food and household supplies, seeking medical care, and providing aid to family and friends who need assistance. They will be able to go outside for walks or exercise as long as they keep six feet away from anyone they don’t already live with. People who are older or have underlying health problems are being told to stay inside at all times except for health care under the new directive. They should ask someone to shop for them if they are able. Airports, taxis, and public transit — including BART — will remain operational, but only for essential travel and people are expected to keep six feet apart when possible. Non-residents can leave. Homeless people are exempt but encouraged to take shelter [no word at this time on how the govt. may or may not help with that]

Would you like to see better services available for the LGBTQ community in the Bay Area? You can help by responding to an anonymous survey that asks about your needs and experiences accessing services. Please share with your networks!
This survey is being commissioned by Horizons Foundation, the world’s first community foundation based in and serving the LGBTQ community, primarily in the nine Bay Area counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma. Findings from this community needs assessment will be used to inform the work of Horizons Foundation, as well as individual donors, other foundations, and nonprofit organizations serving the LGBTQ community.
