Though the human that she found seemed awfully focused through the scope of his rifle. She knew exactly what he was doing, but chose to act oblivious, slowly creeping up behind him and put her face right beside his.

       “ ------i’ll admit i’m not very good at KEEPING friends. ” his COUSIN was to thank for that one, usually. eli OPENED his mouth to retort, but words were unspoken as his lips fell closed, BLUE ORBS eyeing the panel where raul’s arm rested. “ errm-------- ” that’s a great start, eli, keep going. “ i think i like you just fine. ” yeah, that was a GREAT response. now he was just EMBARRASSED, his cheeks tinting a light shade of pink as he glanced away.

    There’s a knock on her door, but she refuses to greet the person standing on the other side. “Go away!!” She sits on her bed, knees pulled to her chest, mascara tears streaking rosy cheeks. She didn’t even bother to ask who it was. Roxanne Todd was absolutely beside herself.

         ‘don’t mind me saying so, but you don’t really seem the type to go out and see SHOWS.’ and she knew the type after so many performances of her own. though the stage lights dimmed most faces, she could always pick out two or three PEERING eagerly through the darkness to the shining, glittering, and most importantly, TANTALIZING display on stage.

     Shoshanna wasn’t expecting such an equally cold response from the man, but she decided to shrug it off instead of push it further. “I-- I’m just sayin’. We could build a fire or somethin’.”

It tickled when he did that--he should’ve known it did. The sensations he lay against that area, sensitive as it was, made a faint squeak of her protest sound, coming right in sync with the weak shrug that came at reflex to his nuzzling. But soon after, the action was replaced with her attempt at reciprocating Raul’s gentleness. Her own lips landed gingerly on him in turn, somewhere uncharted in the soft expanse of his hair. Then, the refuge of her shoulder he’d used as cushion gave way to the hold of either of her hands, Camille now looking to him with a gaze that displayed clearly its concern as well as its scrutiny. 

“Regarde moi, boo...” she asked, her own eyes ticking back and forth between his clear, icy pair... and her tender face now curving in worry for him--though, only what she could make out in her ignorance did she end up addressing, “Lookatchu, you need’a  s l e e p...!”

         A sidelong glance over one shoulder. Jesus, that might have been the saddest, neediest thing she’d ever heard-- except for maybe when people on occasion told her that they loved her. It was that last portion, the bit about no one ever getting attached, that gave him away. He wanted someone to get attached-- it was disappointment she heard in his tone. He was just waiting for someone to become attached to him, so that he could push them away and feel validated and thereby preserve his intense fear of intimacy. Was it some perverse form of masochism that caused other humans to seek out love despite intense fear of rejection and failure?? 

        God, it must be exhausting for people to have feelings. Joker was exhausted right now, and she wasn’t even the one experiencing them. How this man killed people for a living, she would never understand. Cold eyes narrow, a brief moment of consideration before reply. “Boo hoo, Jerry.”
