Jihwan had just brought back one of the dogs he was taking care of this morning and was on his way to one of the pet stores not too far from his apartment complex to buy some treats because his stock was slowly but surely running low when he spotted a white fluffy pomeranian wandering around and it didn't seem like he was following or with anyone. Furrowing his brows, he watched the little dog for a while but when he still couldn't make out whether or not the owner was around, he decided to approach the dog, squatting down a little away from the animal.
Thankfully, Jihwan just had a way with dogs that made them trust him quite easily so it was no surprise that it didn't take long for the pomeranian to curiously approach him. He still had some treats in his pocket which he used to get him to come closer and closer until he was close enough for Jihwan to pet him and give him one of the treats.
"Are you by yourself?", Jihwan asked as if expecting a reply from the dog. The pomeranian looked at him and tilted his head to the side, blinking a couple of times. "What's your name? Do you have a tag?", he continued to interact with the furball while he checked to see if he was wearing a collar and thankfully, he was and it also seemed like there was a nametag attached to it.
"Will you let me take a look at your nametag?", he spoke calmly while he reached under the dog and carefully picked him up after making sure that he wasn't uncomfortable with being picked up. Now that he was able to take look at the nametag, he learned that the dog's name was Hunter and that there was also an address engraved on the back of the nametag which, needless to say, made his search for the dog's owner a whole lot easier than having to go to the vet to have them check if he was chipped.
"Oh, you don't live too far from here. Do you want to go home, Hunter?", he asked with a soft smile as he got up, still focusing on the dog and making sure that he was still fine with being held. "Let's take you home. I'm sure your owner is worried sick and will be happy to have you back."
Shopping for treats could wait. Jihwan's mission now was to return Hunter to his owner and it didn't take him long before he stood in front of the apartment complex of the address on the back of Hunter's nametag. Checking for the name, he rang the doorbell and waited for an answer, when he spotted two men with shopping bags approach the building.
