It's a smoothie kind of late-summer morning 😎 Which means I get to yet again break out my favorite straw! Not only is it an oh-so-sassy shade of magenta, it's silicone AND reusable... Hopefully forever, 'cause I love it so! 😍 I'm glad there are so many people who have also made the commitment to abolish single-use plastic straws from their lives... not using them, and therefore not throwing them away, means they won't end up as more plastic pollution in the ocean. So, in a way, using reusable straws instead is the next-best-thing to hugging a sea turtle. (But please don't *actually* hug a sea turtle - it's bad for the turtle 🙅🏻) Reducing (or, even better, ELIMINATING) single-use plastic would make huge dents in ocean pollution and the marine life deaths and human health impacts it causes... I'm glad that this is an ongoing conversation around the world. Cities, states, and countries are phasing out things like plastic bags and straws, or taking even bolder measures... India, for one, announced a law that will phase out ALL single-use plastics in the country by 2022! 🎉 I pray that the rest of the world soon follow suit.
