Why did I meet you?

Those black onyx orbs that looked like a black hole

I`m like a moth being attracted to the flame unto you

But the innocent me, took the toll

 You said you were selfish, yes you always were

Thinking about yourself is all you ever thought

Yet my love for you was a blur

But my body was only really what you sought

 Maybe my love for you was the only thing that kept me going

After you used me, my mind went hazy

My innocent journal is bowing

For when you went away, I went crazy

 Dear past, the memories that kept me sane became a source of hostility

Now I am going to make him feel what I felt – filthy

A child whose eyes sparkle bright

A happy crooked smile for the picture

Face in a state of bliss where your heart still feels so light

With emotions one can easily depicture

I think my mother took this photo

To remember the visual of her happy child once in a while

Although that was so, so, so long ago

As the child got older, so differently did they smile

Realization of what’s really happening, the child had change

The great euphoria and innocence decay as they cry more on their pillow

They’re asked as to what happened to the oh, so, sweet child, in exchange—

Many painful emotions inside, it evolves, for the child who has grown also do not know

But for all the pain those memories before that came to the little lighthearted child,

I wish to tell that it is not for their existence on as to why they happened.

Lost

Would lost memories suffice for a story about my past? Well, wouldn’t that be a lie though, since I know I still remember? But I guess it can be true since all my tales have amassed into a stormy blur that has invaded my mind - every single corner. An achiever, a goal-getter, a dreamer, a daughter: all roles whose lines I’ve memorized. I know by heart every scene. But the stage has been unstable and I’m stuck as its player yet I stayed and played my part up to the edge of seventeen. They tell me I shine of stars that no one had ever seen but all I see are burned out scorches of a once bright light. Guess I’m sick. Guess I’m tired. But I still sense something in the between: a young girl, teary-eyed, but one that wants to set the stage alight. Perhaps one day, I’ll know what happened, in between the shadows and the fears. Perhaps one day, I’ll find her, and I’ll hold my younger self dear.
