I want more down to earth male characters.
Okay males in books like Divergant and The hunger games. Fucking Twilight.
Why are all the men 1 of 2 guys?
1: Super hot guy that I’m defiantly in love with. Despite that everything in life is basically say fuck your relationship. He’s the usual bad ass but sucks at fighting me because I’m super strong.
2: Super hot guy who I also like but I don’t . He’s usually your tall dark handsome and is the other side of this “love triangle”
First and fore most if you think that’s what a love triangle looks like, draw a trinagle. If you’ve noticed that the two at the bottom are not connected but infact repeal each other, that’s a line with the girl in the middle. It’s a fucking game of tug of war.
Why cant the guys be just as much as a badass as the female protagonist? It would be so cool. They are not just eye candy who are already very skilled but are in the shadow of the female protagonist. Give them their own place to create their shadow. He doesn’t have to be a manly man. He can actually be a person as well with real human characteristics. Like likes plant life and puppies could be one of them. (Who doesn’t like puppies? People with allergies are exempted. But admit it you can admire from a distance.)
*I want to see the guy coming in and kicking some ass with her in his own way and he’s a major bad ass as well. He can just be a friend who is not at all a forced love intrest to keep the reader inclined.(Rouge one but less dead) He can cook and can take care of himself.
Now to your backup and sadder character who is usually the one who looses. Why doesn’t he have a love triangle for himself that inclide him, her, and another person. (Host. I 💖) It’s complex yes but it’s less sad when he has something else to go to. He’s usually there to pull the tention bus full of their fans. Can there be a working polygamist relationship? Come on!
*I want to see the guy also do more and actually get along with the other guy. He’s usually the most ignored bad ass, give him some light too! Can there be a scene where there’s sexual tention between all three. Where they’re all into it as well. It doesn’t always have to be, “we hate each other because we like the same girl and I never like you because competition.” I want to see them acknowledging their love for her and actually getting know each other because of her. It could be gay...could not be, just get along you two!
