“Hey, Ruby.” She can’t help but smile at the sight of her friend as she takes a seat besides her in the dining hall. It feels as if it had been months since they’d last spoken (which it has been) and it made her feel bad that she didn’t even know what Ruby had been up to recently. “How have you been? Did you have fun in dc?”

“Kind of hard to believe the last time we saw each other everything was seemingly going great.” She almost wants to laugh about the whole thing. “Guess only Gallagher can keep you on your toes like that.”

“What are you doing right now?” Miray asks as she catches up to her friend in the hallway. “Please say nothing ‘cause I have a surprise for you back in my room.”

It felt deeply irrational to be at a party considering the circumstances but she hasn’t put all that much effort into it, using a dress and shoes she had already purchased, and mainly heading out because everything about her life feels desperately awful at the moment and she thinks being able to spend time with her friends will help. As if to answer any questions she has about being there, she spots Ruby, heading over to her without having to give it a second thought. “Ruby, you look marvelous as always.” Miray grins, moving to wrap her arms around her friend. “I’ve missed you.”

MIR: Also, unrelated question, what would you say is your favorite color to wear at the moment?
It had only been a couple of weeks but when you were used to spending every single day with a person, it might as well have been forever. To say she missed Ruby would have been an immense understatement. “Ruby...” She grinned, almost immediately embracing her. “How was your summer? Are you rooming with Grayson? Have you been to any of the museums yet?” Maybe she should’ve taken it one question at a time but she was too excited. ( @rubymeriwether ).
