11. Favorite OL fan fiction non-romantic relationship?

I love Jamie and all of his children/grandchildren. I don’t think we see it very often but I love when the moments are explored a little more. I love getting glimpses into how he interacts with Germain, Jemmy, Bree, Fergus and even William.

13. Current OL fan fiction that you are obsessed with?

I’ve been digging in my archives for some old ones I’ve loved. I just did a big re-read of some of my favorites. I’m currently pining over ON DEADLINE (wink wink) and Just Desserts.

Oh this is an interesting question. *LOVE* me some Jamie and Murtagh so that’s usually my go-to but also love when a story ties in Joe. I think that’s one of my favorite parts of IDEKYN- we get Joe and Jamie interacting.

16. Do you have an OL fan fiction ‘guilty pleasure’?

I really enjoy when there’s an obstacle between them- something that allows you to really feel the longing they have for each other. The stolen glances and accidental hand touches. LOVE this.

Tale Time #20

“Oh, I’ve had a fascinating query from a junior professor that I wish to start on as soon as possible, about a point of French philosophy as it relates to Egyptian religious practice. Can you imagine?”

“Not even a little bit.” I smiled at him, charmed by his never-ending enthusiasm for his research. I was much more interested in getting out at night, myself, sans escort. The opportunities for cinema-going, dancing or cavorting with handsome men had been rather thin on the ground in Peru. I had spent more than nine months longing for a little fun.

Well, maybe not longing that hard, I thought, remembering some of the more steamy nights in the jungle, keeping not-so-cool with one of the more attractive graduate students working on the dig. Helmut was tall and sandy-haired, with brown eyes and a devastating smile, and a nigh-unquenchable thirst for the only girl in miles. We had a fair bit of fun sneaking about the ruins, and he had promised to write, but I wasn’t planning on holding my breath.

I did, however, put thoughts of Helmut and his callused hands aside, worried my face would reveal more than I intended. But Uncle Lamb had his nose in his research notebook. We never discussed my liaisons, and I honestly wasn’t sure how much he knew about my social life. He had given me a very scientific explanation of where babies come from at age 10, and we had never spoken of it again. My uncle was an oddly distracted man, but I was sure he couldn’t have been totally oblivious to my late-night comings and goings or flirtations during mealtimes. And he had been going on about the vestal virgins again...

What should I do in Paris with my mom this summer?

Ok, I am assuming you have never been. It’s also my favorite city in the world. Like, hard core I want to own an apartment there one day.

Eiffel Tower. I don’t care how many times I have gone- go find a Monoprix. Buy a baguette, cheese, strawberries and some wine and champagne and have a picnic in front of the tower. It’s a wonderful way to feel like a true Parisian for a few hours, especially on a beautiful summer day. (Go back later and watch the lights show with another bottle of champagne.)

Notre Dame/Shakespeare & Company. Go visit Notre Dame and pretend you’re in that one Disney movie. Then walk across the street to the Shakespeare & Co book store. It is SO CUTE. 

Arch De Triumph. It’s one of my favorite things. I go (almost) every time. While you are there walk a block or two on the Champs de Elysee and feel boujee for a few minutes. 

Visit the Montmartre district. It’s such a cute hidden gem. Visit the Sacré-Cœur while you are there. (This is also the highest point in the city and has some incredible views.)

Visit the Marche aux Puces de Saint-Quen. It’s one of the oldest flea markets in all of Europe. Just truly nifty.

A Seine River cruise at Sunset. (A fantastic way to see some parts of the city.)

The Louvre is always a must. It is huge, you could literally spend a day there and not feel like you’ve seen half of it.

MY FAVORITE: The Catacombs of Paris. Ugh. Worth it. 

And also eat here, Chez Germain.  The owner is the server/cook/waiter/does it all. It’s such a small setting, too. It’s a bit pricy, but the best food I have ever eaten in Paris.

At *least* 18 times. I shower every day and sometimes twice if I work out in the evening.

Dinner, red wine, watching the sunset over the ocean.

Horror flick!

👻Horror Flick: Do you like scary movies? If so, which one is your favorite?

Yes I am even though they scare the living daylights out of me! I was introduced to The Shining at a very young age and now have a very irrational fear of Jack Nicholson. I’d also say Carrie really gives me the heeby-jeebies!
