After the ball, Gaius had felt something he rarely did: regret. His head throbbed after everything and he once again vowed to never drink again. However, he was also certain such a promise would be broken. In general, he hated drinking because of the loss of control, but how could he refuse when sitting next to a king. Oh, right. He should probably ensure his uncle wasn’t upset with him for anything he had said, most of which the punisher did not remember clearly.
Stepping into the dinning hall, he made his way over to where his uncle was seated and sat down across from him. All he really remembered was inviting the man to his dungeon. “Did you sleep well?” If the king didn’t bring it up, Gaius would not either.
