Send ’ 🎉 ’ to kiss my muse at midnight on New Years Eve.
The only good thing about the evening was that Patrick was there. His parents were forcing him into going to one of their fancy work parties for the new year. Some bullshit about a ‘strong family image’, he probably would have but up a huge fight, but in a surprising move, they’d agreed to let him bring Patrick. Probably thought it would make him cooperate more and it helped that they definitely didn’t know what his relationship with Patrick was.
Now that they were at the party and Sirius had gotten him and Patrick a few champagne flutes (it was honestly easier to get alcohol underage at a party like this than school parties), he was feeling like the night wasn’t completely a bust. There was a camera going around grabbing snippets of the party for the news, and Sirius really had been trying to behave. But with a nice buzz going and a misplaced comment from his mother about how he’d been too close with Patrick all night and ‘maybe we shouldn’t have invited him, people will get the wrong idea’, Sirius decided he was done playing nice.
So by the time the countdown came around and Sirius saw the camera circling again, Sirius grabbed Patrick, kissing him as the clock struck twelve and flipping off the camera for good measure. A new year started off with kissing Patrick and pissing off his parents all in one go was a great start, he thought. “Happy New Year, Patrick. Thanks for coming, but you might want to head out before the explosion starts.”
