While most townspeople had been startled by the news, Abigail saw it as her big break. Just one noteworthy article could be all it took to capture the attention of the newspaper and get her name out there as a professional journalist. The only thing she needed now were some exclusive, juicy details not yet known to the public. And after her conversation with Colton the other day, she figured he would be a good place to start.
As soon as she opened the station door, Abi found the brunette seated behind the front desk, just as he had been ever since his probation began. Clearing her throat, she kept her notebook tucked under her arm and grabbed a pencil from her purse before approaching him hesitantly, a coffee in her opposite hand. “Hey, I was wondering if I might be able to talk to you about the attack. I’m going to be writing an article and want to make sure my information is as accurate as possible. I also brought you a coffee.” With a smile, she placed the to-go cup on the desk in front of him, hoping it would be just enough to persuade him.
