As his lips grazed her neck, Abi tipped her head back to allow him more surface area. He had put her in an almost trance-like state, as if she was under his spell and there was no turning back. Not like she’d ever want to. As each stroke grew harder and faster, her hips began to slam back against the wall behind them and she was forced to readjust her footing. Untangling her leg from around his waist, Abi instead propped it up on a nearby shelf to allow for an even better angle. Every stroke as deep and precise as he pleased.

“Aspen would have one, should have known that.” He laughed. “You got yourself a date with a cowboy.”

“I’m sure my boyfriend would love to hear the sound of that.” She said with a laugh. Although Abi was well aware of the figure of speech, she couldn’t help but tease Johnny for his choice of words. “You’re on. Just name a day and time, and I’m there.”

“Well fuck that, it’s your life you can choose what you want and don’t want to do. It’s one of the things my mom raised me on.” He explained with a nod. “For sure when I hear anything new I will let the media know so that the community can take a breather.”

“Well, I wish my mom was more like yours. Maybe then I wouldn’t be in this mess. But I’m fine, I can assure you, and I’ll get out of your hair.” Making her way toward the door, she held it open a crack before turning to say he final goodbyes. “I’ll see you around, Luke, and thanks again.”

It was crazy for her to think about how long she’d wanted this, and how long it had taken them to get this far. All the signs were there, but neither one of them had taken time to put the pieces together and admit their feelings. At first, his pace was slow and steady, and Abi was all too quick to match the rhythm of his hips. As the kiss became more and more heated, she couldn’t help but release a small moan against his lips in order to voice the pleasure he was making her feel. She wanted so much more of him than she could say.

“They did. Some guy the store owner had hired thinking he could get a lot of insurance money.” She shook her head. “It’s frustrating. I know I’ve got to defend people who aren’t the best to be able to help with these kind of cases but it’s worth it. I’m just happy I could help and give this kid his life back.”

“Well, it’s really admirable, you know? In fact, I think the world could use a judge like you. It’s nice to see someone who still cares and does their job, not for just the money, but for what’s right.” This conversation had definitely put her in a positive mood, and Abi couldn’t wait to go home and write about it.

“Ah. Alcohol and bad decisions really go hand in hand most times, huh?” Ty chuckled a little, assuming from the sound of what she’d said. Though even he could testify that alcohol usually led to some ill-judgement for most people at some point. When she introduced herself, Ty smiled. “Hi, Abi–Ty. Tyler, but I go by Ty, usually.” He also introduced himself. “Yeah, actually. Been here for about a month now.”

“Well, it’s nice to meet you, Ty, and welcome to town. Unfortunately you picked just about the worst time to move in.” Abi laughed, though the situation was far more serious than she wanted to admit. If she were in his shoes, she would be terrified. “How are you coping with everything going on?”

“I’m happy that you got to see that side of him too, even though I feel like I have to apologize for him crashing at your place.” She shook her head as she laughed a bit. It just took Rose back to the many times she and Aaron would party a little too hard. “Trouble in the land of the Larson’s?” 

“Something like that. Unfortunately, it’s been going on for as long as I can remember. I just put up with it for a really long time.” After cracking a smile, Abi released a small sigh. She knew she was going to have to explain, but she hated bothering others with family drama. “They gave me a tough time growing up. I was friends with a lot of Southsiders and they didn’t like that. They think that by associating with the ‘lower class,’ that I’m jeopardizing my reputation. They also wanted me to join the family business or become a doctor, something they could be proud of, rather than supporting a career in journalism. Labels and status mean absolutely nothing to me, but everything to them. It just wasn’t working anymore, so I cut them off.”

“No kidding? Man if I could get a horse here I’d be one pretty content guy here. You don’t happen to know of a nearby ranch or something? Maybe we could go riding together sometime, it would be one heck of a belated birthday treat.” He proposed to her. “I could even perform some rodeo rope tricks if you’re into live entertainment. I refuse to wear clown makeup though, I’ll break out and that’s never a good look as an adult.”

“Yeah, there’s one over in Aspen, so it’s not a horrible drive. I’d love to go riding with you, but you’ll have to excuse the fact that I haven’t gone in ten years.” Abi was suddenly excited by the idea. After all that had been going on lately, she needed an escape and leaving Brookhaven, even temporarily, would be just the way to do it. “Are you kidding? I’m always down for a show! No clown makeup required.”

As Eli pulled her closer, Abi sensed his nerves and immediately tried to ease his mind. After pressing a small kiss below his ear, she spoke in a hushed tone. “I think we were right… here.” Wrapping her leg around his hips, she used it to pull him in even closer to her body as Eli worked on lining them up. From the second the blonde eased himself inside of her, Abi couldn’t help but gasp in response to her own sensitivity, instantly wrapping her arm around his shoulders in order to steady herself as she stood on the slippery surface.

“Good to hear, I think everyone would enjoy the free coffees too. You’re welcome, Abi.” He said with a smile, going ahead and walking over to the door and opened it up for her. “Have a good rest of your day and I’ll be in touch.” He reiterated with another smile.

“Thanks, Colton. Make sure Luke isn’t too hard on you, okay?” With a small laugh, she followed him toward the door and made her way out, turning to wave at him as she left.
