Chuck was pretty much all recovered from his prison stint. His particular way of thinking had all but erased the trauma of the event, Charlie was back and everything was fine in the world. He’d missed going for runs though, Charlie liked being out, so he’d headed to the park and spent the morning running, not super fast but soon enough to was panting and sweaty and yanked his shirt off to wipe his face and tucked it into his back pocket.

He’d stopped for a break when two woman who’d also been jogging came up and started talking to him, they were super nice, both gave him their numbers (not that he wanted for company with Charlie) and kept finding reasons so touch his arm, huh, nice they were friendly, but they laughed a lot so Chuck didn’t mind talking with them. To the women’s minds though, it was shocking how oblivious Chuck seemed to their obvious flirting with the super-hot jogger. One of them was about to straight up ask him back to hers ‘shower’ when he looked up and waved a hand at someone in the distance, “Hey Pamela!”

“I gotta go, nice meeting you both!” Chuck jogged away from the flabbergasted woman and up to Pam, stopping in front of her and grinning widely, “Hey! I haven’t seen you ages! You look beautiful! All pretty with fancy hair.” he laughed some, “Sorry I haven’t been by in a while, I was kinda in jail.”

“And that is why it is vital, not only to my country and yours, but to the entire world we owe everything to, that we protect it now when it needs our help. Thank you.” he bowed slowly to the assembled crowd. He’d had a small portable stage erected in the park and just finished giving a speech about the need for greater funds to protect and replenish forests that had be decimated for logging. 

A few members of the public stayed to ask him some questions and the Star City press where there to report in the event with a few pictures. But they were soon dealt with. It was then he noticed a womanly figure who’d been holding back for most of his talk had edged somewhat closer. His aides took the fore with handling any stragglers and indulging his own curiosity he approached the woman. 

“I have found that those who hold themselves back during public events either have nothing to say, or the most to say.” he said slowly, coming to a stop a few paces from her, “I wonder which applies to you, Madame?”
