It never stopped raining on the day of Shirin Spencer’s funeral. Four of the Old Hall Gardeners – Betty, Margaret, John and Biga – made a day trip to Cookham to attend the service at Holy Trinity Church. John Spencer talked in his Eulogy about Shirin’s time with us in the Gardens and how much she had enjoyed those days. After the well-attended service, we all walked in the rain to the marquee…
