As you may or may not be able to tell from your notifs, I’ve just gone through… all of irar and isatswap. I KNOW I’m going to be thinking about those for a long long time, but for now, here’s a hc for the swap twohats fight

Guide: “It’s been so long, I don’t even remember what Nille looks like!!!”

Odile: “Wait, Nille? You mean Siffrin’s sister?”

Guide: …………………. (I’m….. not even her sibling anymore?)

i will saay. 2 detail. nille is just kind of friend to siffrin! rather than a sibling figure of any kind. and ! bonnie is still around in the irar timeline. sometimes. i play around with alternatives. either way odile would register nille as. one of the people shes seen in bambouche.

guide does still have ! a bit similar feelings though! seeing their sister with another version of themselves. one who didnt ever need to leave her and bambouche behind. one who is! far happier than they are! theyre very bitter about it. feels like thered be no reason for nille to want it around

imagining how strained IRAR Bonnie's relationship with the Change God is, and how much worse it gets in ISATswap

Like, first, you find out that the god the entirety of Vaugard worships did basically nothing, and that it was Euphrasie that blessed Mirabelle. Like, you know that Change is a lazy god, but doing nothing to protect your people (or maybe just giving a keyknife) is almost traitorous

Then, if the Change God quest happens, Bonnie gets told, by the god they have looked up to all their life, that it's fun for it to watch them suffer in the loops. I do NOT think Bonnie would be comfortable worshiping Change at this point

And finally, when Bonnie is at the end of their rope, they call out to Change using the Universe, and they get punished for it. The Belle they knew is gone. The Za they knew is gone. The Dile they knew is gone. The Frin they knew is only partially there in Loop, but Loop's in an unreachable state, being the villain and all. Change is destruction, after all

I like to think that swap!Siffrin asks Guide if they want to pray at the Change God statue and Guide visibly recoils

NODS YEAH its smth i pondered on for a bit in the past. theyre veeerry bitter towards both the change god and the universe (<- esp if irarnie hears abt the specifics of loop eventually.) irarnie is already bitter as is (gestures at change god quest as mentioned above . i cannot imagine the change gods maain statement there fully changing even if it's talking to. a child. i dont think it gaf thats a god !!! and of course. universe stuff) but. guide has literallyy everything ripped away from it by the universe like how loop did. its ! not happy at either god to say the least!

I remember you saying once that swap!siffrin has a very complicated relationship with the Change religion. Imagine how complicated swap!king’s relationship with it must be. A man who in the original story was purely dedicated to preserving what he has and never letting go, being the head housemaiden of a religion antithetical to that

(Maybe he just took the position because it’s a place from which he can protect everyone or something? Or maybe his personality is just completely different in swap? Fun to think about)

OH FOR SURE. i dont. really. consider mmmyself a guy who is good at. writing the king at all? he's not at all a character im strong with. but like i .dont really want to change the core of him? its not smth i particularly like to do with my own swap AUs. i just think he went about his appreciation for vaugarde and wanting to recall the islands culture differently here than canon (obviously). i think he runs the house differently due to that? but aah. im not really sure on a lot of the specifics. shrugs. i just still want to keep him as. the king while still putting him in such a different role. i dont knowwwww clutches my head.fuckkk
