He didn’t know why he had allowed Shiro to take him out that night. Keith wasn’t much of a people person, as the other was incredibly aware, and going out to a club seemed like the last thing he should be doing. He would much rather just stay at home, in his dormitory, maybe reading a book or taking a hot shower or studying for school. Instead, his long-term best friend had taken his own boyfriend, Adam, and decided that maybe Keith would stop being so tense and angry and stick in the mud-like if he were to go clubbing with them that night. Begrudgingly, he agreed, if only because they wouldn’t leave him alone otherwise.
As soon as they had walked into the club, he had regretted it. Keith Kogane had high-tailed it to the bar, the Junior thankful that he was of drinking age, before the male that was in the year above him walked over, throwing an arm around his friend’s shoulder. “Come on Keith, loosen up. There has to be someone here you want to - “ “No.” It was a brief reply, finally grabbing the bottle of beer as it was served to him, bringing it to his lips. The Korean male wasn’t having any of this, and there would be no way that he would find his one true soulmate in this nasty display of drinking and grinding and thudding music.
Shiro shrugged off his attempts to go dance with his own boyfriend, though he noticed Adam and him continuously stealing glances to him to see if Keith was attempting to have any fun. Instead he just leaned against the bar, gloved hands clutching the sweaty bottle as he tried to numb out the pulse of the electrifying music through his ears. It wasn’t until a moment later that Keith saw him across the floor of the club, purple eyes widening a bit. He remembered the other sitting in a class with him, a few rows down, but he had never paid much attention until now. For now, he couldn’t stop staring, biting into his lower lip. Keith was still much too shy to approach, and didn’t like people at all, and that throng of people seemed disgusting. But still, he was....cute.
It was like they had a fucking Keith-meter, Shiro and Adam both sidling up to him. “Ah, so you do like people, Kogane.” Adam snickered, Shiro whacking him gently, giving him a look that said ‘don’t tease him.’ Keith blushed, glancing away and chugging back the rest of his bottle. “No, I just spaced out for a minute. There’s nothing, I mean I don’t - “ He murmured, but before he could say much else, Adam was walking over, nudging that male with the beautiful tanned skin. Whispering something into that brunette’s ear, and gesturing towards Keith, who was so bright red that he bought another beer to drown it out, quickly turning his back on the two. “My friend there thinks you’re cute, but he’s a shy little virgin. Go ask him for a dance, if you’re interested? He only bites a little.” That would be exactly what was whispered into the ear of Lance McClain on the dance floor.
