Oh yeah, battle-institute ripped it to shreds this morning
Really though, it’s one of those fake things I strongly wish was real. I would love to see a generation where, right in the middle, there’s this influx of new Pokemon we didn’t foresee. Or, hell, updates to the game in terms of altering base stats and playing with abilities.
This is something I outright don’t understand; we can patch the game now, guys. Why are we not seeing more broad, sweeping changes for the competitive scene when we have this tech at our disposal? “But updating that would mean it’s not compatible with older stuff.” You mean like it already isn’t? Things adjust well enough through PokeBank, and we get updates with minor bug fixes that are so incompatible with past versions of the game that we can’t even watch old Battle Videos. “But what about keeping later gen games compatible with newer-gen games?” Honestly? Not important. I could see the case for keeping a remake and the most recent version of the new stuff consistent. That makes sense. But if we have a situation where it’s Sun/Moon, then Ultra Sun/Moon, the second should be an upgrade. I don’t see why there shouldn’t be massive, sweeping changes that make it wholly different from the base game, and which means maybe the first game doesn’t have compatibility with the second. I just want changes. I want updated movepools. I want updated abilities. I want improved base stats like we saw at the start of this gen. Give me something new.
