Winter? I'll give you winter! by steve55126 Via Flickr: After the "Blizzard of 2010" on Dec. 11, Twin Cities railroads were digging out. Trains were significantly delayed, including this Northstar commuter train heading west through Coon Rapids with UTA 12 on the point on Dec. 12. Look out for the snow!
Anyone cool folks down to attend a private bi pajama birthday party?? In 2 weeks!!!
Everyone, please share this picture, particularly if you live in the midwest or any of your followers do. This is a friend of a friend, she’s only fifteen, and we’re all really worried.
I've been framed! by steve55126 Via Flickr: Sometimes photos just happen - and this is one of them. With the leaves just about gone, and Daylight Savings Time ending, it won't be long before you can't shoot Northstar commuter trains during rush hour so I decided to make hay while the sun shines. I was looking for some leaves near the tracks, but seeing none I decided to hike a short way up a tree for some elevation - something I don't usually do because of the downside - you can fall out! Anyway, as I was making my way up the branches, the train popped around the curve, the tree began to shake, and I began to slide down - but firing the camera all the way! Imagine my surprise when the train ended up on one exposure perfectly framed between two branches! While I'd like to take credit for it, it was luck, not skill.
