Philadelphia was cursed. Clearly this was the only explanation for all of the shit that had happened since Alex had arrived a little over a month ago. Or maybe he was cursed. It was hard to remember that good things had happened, too, while he was in the city. All that was on his mind now was watching his sister cry, holding a pack of ice to her cheek while she explained everything, from Steve to Cooper to Cassidy. It took everything out of Alex not to start crying himself, but he wanted to try and be strong for her. The emotions stirring inside him were too much to bare now that he was alone, having gotten Cass to take a nap after everything, and he wasn’t quite sure what to do. The adrenaline rush he’d gotten after punching and kicking out Steve combined with the guilt and horror of listening to Cass.... He had people in his life that would be there for him not matter what, he knew this, and yet he knew he wasn’t going to tell anyone. At least for the time being. How would his friends, and more importantly Cassidy, react? Was this even his secret to tell?
Alex had failed once, but he was going to do his best to try and make everything okay again. Somehow. Clearly communication between Cass and everyone involved with the drama was lacking, and the least Alex could do was try and clear things up. If Cooper was serious in his texts, he genuinely didn’t know what he had done to make Cass angry with him. Alex didn’t care if Cass got angry at him for telling Cooper what he had done, Cooper needed to know so hopefully they could talk things out. At least Sage hadn’t overheard Cooper, it would just make things even more complicated.
With Cass sleeping in the house, Alex left through the door and went over to the guest house that Nathan and Cooper were staying in. It was still fairly early, unlikely that Cooper would be out of the house. Alex knocked on the door loudly, not caring if he woke Cooper up. Though he wasn’t sure if he should bring Nathan into this mess. “Cooper! Get your ass out here, we need to talk!”
