back on tumblr just to share this oh my god. jen lynch how i love you
Look, I’ve got a (presumably) really unpopular Twin Peaks related opinion but, I just gotta speak the truth. First, I’d like to say that I don’t actually hate the ship or think it’s totally impossible, I’m not here to try to change anybody’s mind, I just think using the following as proof of it is a total misread of the situation.
I feel like many people (certainly not all, but many) use Albert’s “I love you Sherriff Truman” as an indication of romantic interest and I think that’s wild. This isn’t some vulnerable moment for Albert, it’s a calculated move. Harry is moments away from Albert punch #2 and Albert definitely wants to avoid that. So, he lays down this speech which is the ultimate power play because there is no way Harry can retaliate without looking like an asshole and Albert knows that Harry is not an asshole. The thing is, though, Harry actually connects to what Albert is saying and is able to see him in a new light. And I’m sure Albert respected him for that. Also, that hug in Season 2? That is not a sexually charged hug. It’s just not. That’s not what that would look like. (Look, if you want to talk about actual really charged relationships.....Albert doesn’t keep coming back to Twin Peaks for Twin Peaks, you feel me? But that’s beside the point...)
I don’t want to be inflammatory, but I love Special Agent Albert Rosenfield, bitchiest man in the universe, and, for me, that reading doesn’t really gel with his character.
they're forming a heart...much to think about...
Thinking about Dale and Albert...
