So, a buddy of mine hand makes copper, bronze, and steel weapons.

Dirty Copper.

This copper Opinel no7 was done up for a US LEO customer who asked for an extra dirty & extra copper etched version .

The copper etched blade will wear in time and with use and he also asked for blue GITD to be fitted in the end of the handle .

Copper Opi -Mod .

 No7 high carbon Opinel blade etched and stone-washed in a hammered copper non locking Higonokami style handle for a Rad US guy.

The copper used in this one was from Georgian era house pipes and is shot on some of my Jurassic coast beach finds .

Recycled knife part 2

I then wrapped the copper handle in a length of technora 950 cord and though about a sheath , it could have kydex or leather but felt a copper one suited better .

Same copper pipe was used which was part squashed in a vice then hammered and the inside of the sheath is lined with material , matching brass kydex eyelet and technora 950 wrap .

Recycled knife . Part one .

A 1970s stainless steel kitchen knife with rather horrid acrylic swirl blend handle that was cracked and was going to be chucked out that I thought I may try and save .

 The handle was smashed off  cleaned free of rust on the tang , then etched and stone washed . I then squashed a length of old copper pipe and hammer hardened it with a ball peen hammer for a dimpled effect .

  A brass kydex eyelet was added as a lanyard  tube  then the copper was etched and brass blackened before a further stone wash .

NO8 Copi-mod

Made up for a US customer this was the first time I had tried a no8 Opinel with the copper handle treatment .

High carbon blade was striped from the Opinel handle then etched and stonewashed . Soviet era copper from munitions boxes hammered ,etched and stonewashed for an aged effect .
