This is a antique French Copper 'splash lid' that is just short of a foot across - 30 cm about 12" and from handle to far edge is 47 cms or 18.5 inches. This will cover most French pans with no trouble! The handle is securely fixed with copper rivets and the patina looks stunning when light hits it.

It is an antique/vintage piece which shows wear and has surface scratches and darkening of the tin lining. It weighs 608 grams or 1lb 5.5ozs.

There are no real faults with thsi casserole. You can use this on an oven top or in the oven - this is the most versatile of pans. If you can only treat yourself to one pan this is it!

This is a Mauviel pan that was found at a flea market in Normandy. A family was selling up after retiring from the restaurant business - these are the best you can buy and are still made today.
