On this day in 1886, Marriott C. Morris made a copy photograph of a cabinet card showing his younger brother, Samuel Buckley Morris III, in 1885. This copy photograph is particularly special because it was taken the same year of Samuel’s death, only a year later, when Samuel was eighteen years old. Marriott could have wanted another way to preserve this keepsake.
